How to setup your connection for Adobe Contribute CS3

Adobe Contribute is a desktop software application for creating, editing and managing the content of a website. This tutorial explains briefly how you can set up your connection in order to publish your website by Adobe Contribute CS3.

Note: The first important thing before setting up your connection is to enable FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) for your domain/subdomain from your Hosting Control Panel >> FrontPage Manager section.

Here are the step-by-step instructions:

  1. Start your Adobe Contribute CS3 program.
  2. Go to “Edit” menu >> “My connections…” menu.
  3. In the “My Connections” windows click on the “Create…” button.
  4. Start following the “Create Connection” wizard.
  5. Click the “Next” button on the first welcome screen.
  6. Choose “Website” for your connection and type your URL http://yourdomain.com, then click the “Next” button.
  7. Select the “FTP” protocol for your connection from the drop-down menu.
  8. Type your FTP server your hostname “yourdomain.com”, your FTP username and FTP password, then click the “Next” button.
  9. On the next screen click on the “Choose…” button to select your domain folder where to upload your website.
  10. Double-click your domain folder “yourdomain.com” in order to open it.
  11. Once you are inside the folder, click on the “Select ‘yourdomain.com’” button, this will auto-complete the path you need to set.
  12. Click the “Next” button to finish the wizard.
  13. Enter your contact details on the next step and click the “Next“ button
  14. You will see a summary of all your connection details on the final screen, click “Done”.
  15. You will see your saved connection profile listed in the “My Connections” window.

… and that’s all. After you click “Done” you will be able to see your connection profile in the “My Connections” window.
