How to setup your connection for Adobe Contribute CS3
Adobe Contribute is a desktop software application for creating, editing and managing the content of a website. This tutorial explains briefly how you can set up your connection in order to publish your website by Adobe Contribute CS3.
Note: The first important thing before setting up your connection is to enable FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) for your domain/subdomain from your Hosting Control Panel >> FrontPage Manager section.
Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Start your Adobe Contribute CS3 program.
- Go to “Edit” menu >> “My connections…” menu.
- In the “My Connections” windows click on the “Create…” button.
- Start following the “Create Connection” wizard.
- Click the “Next” button on the first welcome screen.
- Choose “Website” for your connection and type your URL http://yourdomain.com, then click the “Next” button.
- Select the “FTP” protocol for your connection from the drop-down menu.
- Type your FTP server your hostname “yourdomain.com”, your FTP username and FTP password, then click the “Next” button.
- On the next screen click on the “Choose…” button to select your domain folder where to upload your website.
- Double-click your domain folder “yourdomain.com” in order to open it.
- Once you are inside the folder, click on the “Select ‘yourdomain.com’” button, this will auto-complete the path you need to set.
- Click the “Next” button to finish the wizard.
- Enter your contact details on the next step and click the “Next“ button
- You will see a summary of all your connection details on the final screen, click “Done”.
- You will see your saved connection profile listed in the “My Connections” window.
