5 Useful YouTube Tips

1.Try the Feather and HTML 5 mode:
Click on “Try something new!” at the bottom of the YouTube page. There you can find and try out many of the new features in YouTube.

Both the HTML5 and the Feather version are still in development, so some of the videos may not play with them. HTML5 is supported by Google Chrome, Firefox 4, Higher Internet Explorer versions with installed Google Chrome Frame, Safari 4 + and Opera 10.6 +. You can use HTML5 for most of the videos if you don’t have a Flash player. Feather is obviously the lighter version of YouTube, designed to load the videos much faster, especially if you have a slow internet connection. It has a simpler look, doesn’t load all recommended videos and limits some features.

5. Search tips:
Not only the plus and minus signs work in YouTube search. You can also use  ”intitle:keyword” to search only for videos with the word in their titles. Besides, simply writing “HD” or “3D” in your title will bring out high-quality or 3D content. You can specify the timing and freshness of the videos by writing “today”, “this week” etc. “Long” and “short” will return results for videos under 4 minutes or much longer videos. You can as well search for “channel” or “playlist”. In order the search to work you have to separate the terms with commas like this: “panda, playlist, today”.
